Rosie and Rosario are a fabulous pair of Mexican Tonala pottery candlestick holders. The ceramic production in Tonalá, known as the authentic mestizo ceramic is symbolic of Mexico's identity, is made of burnished clay or scented clay. The first designs of these ceramics were inspired by forms found in nature such as vegetables and roots. Rosie and Rosario have a mid century rustic flare, but their subtle delicate design of flowers and vines at their base keeps them down to earth. Dating to the 1970s, they measure 4.5" tall x 3" diameter. These ladies are sold as a set, and include their own candlesticks.
