Athena is such a beautiful find!  This papier-mâché trinket box, turned match holder, features a symbolic partridge surrounded by lovely flowers on a beautiful green backdrop.  The partridge, in Greek mythology, is the favored bird of the goddess of Athena and is known for it's wisdom, feminine forces, and fertility.  Make sure you treat her well! She came to us from Kashmir from the 1980s, is 3” diameter x 1.5” tall, and has a "strike anywhere" surface on her base.
