Sophie is an incredibly rare and unusual Dhokra box, dating to the early 1900s. She has a metal clasp on one side and hinges on the other to open fully. Her backside is a little bit out of alignment so does not do a perfect seal but is close enough to look closed. She weighs over 3 lbs. and is approx 8.5" tall, 8" deep, 4.5" wide. She has the most gorgeous detail all around!  Dhokra is non–ferrous metal casting using the lost-wax casting technique. This sort of metal casting has been used in India for over 4,000 years and is still used. What a special piece!  She comes with two seasonal sage bundles.
